I am not surprised to see this happen. I have never flied with Dragonair as its fare is slightly expensive than budget airline. I used to fly to Tokyo twice a year and I usually fly with HKexpress and Ethiopian airllines (when they had HKG-NRT route with 788) based on the cheap price. Now Swire has brought HKExpress so they have pretty much no reason to convert Dragon air into budget airline.
